***Brief Description***
The stamps are considered fine by my standards.
The margins are offset ever so slightly, but are still visible.
There is an extended bow to the stamp as well, but not too, too bad.
There are 'NO'
hinge marks present at this time.
The overall quality and design aesthetic is outstanding.
A rare find indeed
This is also a block of 4 stamps with 'NO' block number present.
The colors are bold, the picture is clear and the typography is excellent.
A must have for any collector.
**Historical Significance**
Peru declared its independence from Spain in 1821 and decisively defeated colonial forces at the Battle of Ayacucho in 1824.
Peru began using lithographed stamps in 1857 that were initially provided by the Pacific Steam Navigation Company, or PSNC.
The long standing tradition used to print, cut and emboss stamps
continues on to this day.
These specific stamps are a special religious-themed edition used to commemorate the Eucharist.
This is also a highly collectible variety sought after by Peruvian collectors worldwide. It is extremely desirable.
