The classic embodiment of US military aviator flight gear since4 before WWII is the A-2 leather flyer's jacket.  This flight jacket  is STILL very popular among pilots today..... if they can find one....
The medium military grade brass main zipper zipper works fine and
is unmarked as to maker (photo 8)...
. The front  pockets and collar have metal snaps.

There are no issues with this flight jacket that I could find. The zip out liner is missing however. The jacket appears to be insulated with something like Thinsulate.... the original manufacturer's label was removed by the previous owner(photos 2 & 3) The original Velcro name tag patch is still on it. I recognize the construction as L.L. Bean as I have had several of these. They were bought in the BX or online direct from LL Bean and some guys wear them because they have a better lining than the others from the Air Force contractors. It gets cold here and this is where the USAF trains for Afghanistan - remarkably similar terrain.
This flight jacket is from a USAF veteran and no further information is available. This flight jacket is absolutely original to the period of the late 1990s through the current day.
