    For your consideration are 2 Woodworking Mallets(?) and
    Vtg “Lot” of Witherby Wood Carving Tools,
    Partial Set of No. 8712 P, Made in Japan
    The larger “Mallet” has no makers marks and possibly was homemade. The smaller one I am not convinced isn’t actually a pestle but it was found in a box of woodworking tools so I am including it.
    i have not been able to pinpoint the specifics but I believe this “Witherby" was NOT the same as “TH Witherby of Connecticut”. I think this was another company possibly based out of Sheffield, England that outsourced some production.

    Original pouch was in terrible condition and the top is just being included for provenance
    Larger Mallett measures 11 1/4” in length, head has a 3 1/4” diameter and weighs 1lb 5.2oz
    Smaller Mallet or pestle measures 6 3/4” in length, approx. 1 1/2 dial. and weighs 2oz
    Both are in good working condition, some discoloration but both are free of cracks/breaks
