Vintage/Antique 1-1/2" Wide STANLEY EVERLASTING CHISEL With Wood Handle & Metal Cap
Very nice lightly used STANLEY EVERLASTING wood handled wood chisel. The blade is 1-1/2" wide. The blade still has its original factory ground edge. In other words this chisel has never been re-sharped after it left the factory floor years ago. The blade does have one (1) little nick on it (see pics). Other than that the chisel is in great condition. The round wooden handle is secularly mounted, not loose at all. The metal end cap has some hammer marks on it, but it's not "PEENED OVER" at all. No cracks or breaks in the wooden handle (see all pics).
It's very hard to read, but on the shank of the tool you can make out U.S.A. and 7-28-08 and 8-24-09 (see last pic).
These are the Pat dates. I would say from the information on the shank this was
defiantly a STANLEY SWEETHEART chisel.
The chisel is 8-3/8" long, and weighs in at 12.2 oz.
