    Description

Ten Years in a Day. Published by the Rolls-Royce Owners Club Inc. Interesting booklet that described the machine (Rolls-Royce Bumping Test Machine) used by Rolls-Royce to text the chassis of their automobiles. It was stated that this machine put ten years of wear and tear on the chassis in just one day. This is a 1963 reprint, but I don’t know when the original was printed. In 1913, Rolls-Royce enjoyed a reputation for quality and reliability. So, Four Silver Ghosts, three factory cars and a privateer were tested on a "bump machine" for a six day endurance race. That might be the first known use of the machine. 6” x 9 ¼” and 10 printed pages. Two page photo of the bump machine in the center. Very clean.
