    Description

    Millers Falls no. 1188? Turning Tool Set in fine condition. The set is complete with all 8 turning tools Millers Falls offered.
    The tools in the set are:
    No. 1 Spear Point
    No. 2 Round Nose Chisel
    No. 3 1/2" Skew Chisel
    No. 4 l" Skew Chisel
    No. 5 1/4" Gouge
    No. 6 1/2" Gouge
    No. 7 3/4" Gouge
    No. 8 Parting Tool
    These have been used with much respect. Some edges look like they most likely have the factory edge, they do not have a secondary bevel indicating that they were sharpened by a previous owner, except for possibly No 4,  The edges are reasonably sharp but are not razor sharp as they likely bumped into a thing or two over the years. The handles are approx 8" long X 1-1/4" tapering to 1" at the narrowest point.  The wood of handles are very good vintage preciously owned and used condition, There is a tad of crazing on the finish on a couple, but no cracks or breaks.  There are a couple nicks as in photo11, this photo is the worst nick to the finished handle, the couple others a very slight nicks from normal wear.
    No 4 and 7 it appears the end of the handles was sanded down at some point, these are not as rounded as the others.  Please inspect all photos....
    The Millers Falls logo is clearly visible on each handle. The steel on each is clearly stamped with the Millers Falls logo and the model number.
    The steel looks real good, some rust "staining" (patina) acquired over the years but "NO" pitting.
    I cleaned the handles with a wood cleaner only, I did not add an oil to make these shine more than they naturally do... which they Do!
