    Description

Auction is for a rarely found Lufkin Tool Set No. 1 for Students, Apprentices & Mechanics Circa 1950's. Complete with all it's tools.
These sets were made by Lufkin, Brown & Sharpe and Starrett. They usually had 2 models and contained very similar machinist tools. Since they were for the beginner, they contained the base models of each tool. The combinations squares were non-hardened models. The calipers were the flat versions with solid nuts. And the flexible 6" scale with pocket protector was not plated.
All the items in the case, except the 6" scale with pocket protector, came in the case when purchased. It was replaced with a chrome plated model of the same type and a Lufkin leather pocket protector.
They have been carefully cleaned and oiled. Some pitting and paint loss can be found as shown in the photos. The original stamped markings on the edges of  the combination square attachments are still there, indicating that they have not been refinished.
The square attachment has a very lightly scratched "A. Bengi" on one side and what looks like "A.B.C." on the other. See closeup photos.
Case is old (60+ years) . All the hold downs still function. Edges are frayed. Snap works.
    Please see the photos.
Difficult item to find. There seem to be fewer Lufkin models that come up for sale. This is only my second one and it's nice.
