Welcome
&
Thank You for Shopping In the USA!
A great original doctor's Prohibition Liquor Prescription stub for Spirits Frumenti, the US pharmaceutical term for Whiskey...Zxxxii (Quart)...Zi q 4 hrs (1 ounce every 4 hours) 8 days! This was kept by the doctor and was open to inspection by Federal Officers! Please see photo!
From the days of Al Capone, speakeasies and moonshine this was the only legal way to drink liquor in the US!
The whiskey was prescribed for Wm. Burns, by Dr. Thos. L. Dwyer, of Chicago, IL, on August 16, 1933. It was issued by the Treasury Department and when held to the light, INDUSTRIAL ALCOHOL is partially watermarked.
The prescription stub measures 4 1/2" by 3" and is in excellent condition..a great ditty from Chicago's Prohibition days!
This is a FANTASTIC piece of history and would be great to display in a pharmacy, museum, bar or office! I am happy to answer any questions and thank you for your interest! :)
