    Description

    The wooden plaque is approximately 7 1/2" by 6" at it's longest and widest points.  The ceramic(?) badge is 3 1/2" in diameter.  There is a metal plaque beneath the insignia that says 25 Apr - 6 May 77.  There is a slight chip on the edge at the 3:00 o'clock position.  Otherwise, t

    It is from the Naval Communication Station San Diego.  In searching Wikipedia, I could not find any reference to this installation.
    This item belonged to  LTJG R.A. Scofield who rose to the rank of Captain before retiring from the Navy.  I am not sure when he was assigned to the Rankin.
    This item was donated to the Boulder, Colorado (Admiral Arleigh Burke) chapter of the Military Officers of America Association.  All proceeds from this sale will be donated to the chapter's ROTC scholarship fund at Colorado University.
