Description
Jai Shri Krishna! This bell is about 9 3/4 inches tall (including Krishna who is about 4 1/2 inches tall) and weighs almost 3 pounds.
It is on a 17 inch chain with a hook at the top for hanging.
Shri Krishna, the all attractive Lord, is portrayed here playing his flute.
Krishna would play the most captivating and melodious tunes on his flute as his cows grazed in the field. The clear skies, soft breeze and newly blossomed trees made the atmosphere enchanting. Peace, bliss and love exuded all around. The Gopis (milkmaids of Vrindavan) were intoxicated by the sweet melody of Krishna's flute. Unable to control their feelings towards Him and forgetting their household duties these devotees of the Lord rushed to have the company of their beloved. Their hearts and minds were completely occupied with the blissful sound of the flute and their love of Krishna. Even the trees, flowers, birds and animals surrendered themselves to the sweet music of Krishna's divine flute.
In India, one always finds a bell at the entrance to a temple or holy place. When a devotee rings the bell on entering, they are letting the deity of that place know that they have arrived to ask for blessings.
What a fabulous bell to hang at the entrance to a space which is sacred to you, or anywhere in your home.
