    Description

My mother acquired this in her 1973 purchase of a 1920 farmhouse in Illinois. The owners of the farmhouse told her it had been in their family since the 1800s. They said it was civil-war era. I am not a collector and I have not found any image on Google that matches it so I cannot say for certain how old it is, but that is the story of how we came to own it. When she bought the farmhouse they included many antiques.
    Measurements: the foot is 14” x 5.5”
The splint is adjustable from approximately 32” to 46” and is 5.5” wide.
It was obviously well made. Everything is sanded quite smoothly and is well varnished even after all these years. I do not have the straps.
The foot is held by a single screw. The adjustments are made by one screw on each side and rows of numerous holes.
The only flaws that I can see is that at some point it got a few bits of white paint on the back side. I did not try to remove them, but I think it would be fairly easy. I would prefer that the new owner take that on.
I will remove the foot to facillitate shipping and everything will be well padded and packaged.
