A GENUINE AMISH MADE TURNED HICKORY SOCKET TYPE CARPENTER'S SLICK HANDLE, Style SHG, by mjdtoolparts. This classic pattern slick handle measures 15 9/16 inches in length. The tapered socket tip is 1 15/16 inches in length. The socket measures 1 11/32 inches in diameter at the neck of the tapered tip adjacent to the handle and 1 inches in diameter at the tip. See the diagram in the lower left hand corner of the photograph for the specifications of this handle. To order the correct size for your slick, measure the inside diameter at the top of the socket, the diameter at the base of the socket, and the depth of the socket, then compare the measurements to the sizes offered. Some fitting with sandpaper and a chisel will be required to achieve a perfect fit. Always order a size slightly larger than the socket of your slick if an exact fit is not available.
