    Description

    Solid African Blackwood (Dalbergia melanoxylon) mallet head rejects from factory CNC for having small inclusion.  Each head is solid Blackwood without checking.  Defect is from sapwood or knot.  Defects are minor and could be filled in with black epoxy or super glue if you want the mallet to turn out flawless.
    Mallet Head Blanks are 3-1/2" tall and 2-5/8" wide.
    Has a 3/8" hole bored down center about an 1" (inch) to 1-1/2" for handle attachment.
    Comes with handle that is 5-1/2" or make your own.
    You will need to attach handle and finish.
    I recommend attaching the handle and head with a threaded metal rod that can be purchased at any hardware store.  Sand finish with oil then polish.  Finished product would be just under a pound and can be adjusted by adding small weights or magnets in mallet head hole.
