    Description

1980-2 Africa, It's Political Development – National Geographic Map Poster

Africa may be the cradle of civilization, yet most of its nations are among the youngest and poorest.” On the map-side is a map of the continent of Africa, with 10 insets of the various island groups. The reverse side is anchored by a copy of a 1570 painting by
Flemish cartographer Ortelius of the continent from “educated guesses”. There is a comprehensive discussion (with maps) of the progress of the political development of Africa from ancient Egypt to European exploration and to current independence of the various African countries. It provides an excellent overview of Africa.
    Map is approximately 22" x 29".
The National Geographic is known for it's fine maps & detailed information.
