You are bidding on a unique
“1970’s Communist Czech military rain / clouds camouflage field hat  in new and unissued condition in a size Size 57”
In form this is a standard camouflage field cap but with unique Czech elements. This camouflage pattern was used by the Czechs during the 1960’s through the early 1980’s. At first it looks like a a typical Warsaw Pact pattern with a green base cotton fabric but this Czech pattern is a unique pattern with subtle cloud like shapes overprinted with a rain print. This gives the pattern a very unique look and when wet it brings out the cloud shapes. This is middle period of  issue and is dated 1977 on the interior, There are also some additional Czech markings on the interior.
The cap are two button fold down ear flaps to protect the wearer from the elements. It also has a chin strap which is uncommon. The interior has a separate cloth sweat band which is common on Czech field caps. The interior has several stamps including a size of 57 making this hat a size medium.
Outstanding tailoring and details as are most Czech kit from the era.
This pattern is long out of service and although this pattern was sold as surplus by the Czechs finding one in a human size and unissued is difficult. See my other auction for a Czech rain / clouds camouflage jacket. No problem combining shipping on multiple auction wins.
