    Description

From a recent estate sale are 12 old snapshot photos that came in an envelope marked Bombay India. The photos are undated but I believe they are early 1900's. They measure about 4 1/4" by 3 1/4" and are on lightweight paper. All save one of the photos have notations on the back which for reasons unknown have been crossed out and then rewritten almost verbatim. The birds eye view is "Bombay from Malabar Hill". The photo that is missing the bottom left corner is marked as "Burning of Plague Victim". One of the city street scenes is marked as "Hindu Quarter" and the other as "Mohamidan quarters". The rest of the photos are marked: Bombay omnibus, Watering Place, Office of Colonial Secretary, Sailors Home, Victorial Termeneal (sic), Native Band, Beast of Burden, scene in Residence quarters, Hanging Garden.
